Mailbox options behind 0, a recordings page built for listening, softphones that work from home, a fax tab in the app, and a fresh look.
A busy few days. Most of what follows came from people using Kahevo every day and telling us what slowed them down.
Your mailbox, from any desk phone
Dial *97 as before, then press 0 for mailbox options. From there you can record a new greeting and hear it back, go back to the standard greeting, set yourself available, away or busy, or change your PIN, all without touching a computer. The first message is now announced as "First message", so you always know where you are. If you would rather your own desk phone ask for the PIN too, that is a switch on your extension.
Blind transfers got kinder as well. If you send a call straight through and nobody picks up, it can now go on to that person's voicemail instead of coming back to you. Your administrator decides whether it does.
Recordings you can get through
The Recordings page now works like the voicemail inbox. Calls are laid out by day, each with a picture of both voices, so you can see at a glance who did the talking. Press play and the call opens in its own row.
| You want to | Now you can |
|---|---|
| Hear only the customer | Play one side of the conversation alone |
| Get to the point | Skip the silences |
| Follow along | Read the written conversation as it plays, the line being said lit |
| Find the moment | Open a long call in a reading view and search it |
Calls from home and on the road
The phone in your browser and the iPhone app now reach the office phone system from home Wi-Fi or mobile data with nothing to set up. Walk out of the office mid-call, move from Wi-Fi to mobile data, and the call carries on. Audio on a bumpy connection is smoother too.
The iPhone app
- A Fax tab: see faxes by their first page, open one full size, and send a fax from the phone, even from a photo.
- Answer a call straight from the lock screen.
- Mute, speaker and the keypad work while a call is still ringing.
- A simpler layout: Keypad, Voicemail, Messages and More.
- Mark up a customer's picture with your finger before sending it back.
A fresh look
The pages people use to run the phones have been redrawn: flat, quiet and easier to read, with a new sign-in page. Lists are tables you can search as you type, the dashboard has a panel for what needs attention right now, and choosing who is in a ring group or queue takes seconds. Kahevo also has a new mark, the hummingbird.
The honest part
Working from home and the new app features are in testing, and we are still trying more home routers and phones. If something gets in your way, tell us and we will change it.
