Getting started with Kahevo.
We set Kahevo up for your business, move your numbers and phones across, and stay a phone call away. You get a better phone system without having to become a phone person.
From first call to phones on desks.
Four steps, and only the first one is yours.
-
Talk story with us
Tell us how many people answer the phones, what you use today and what bugs you about it. We visit if that helps, and send a quote in plain words.
-
We set it up
Hosted by us or on a server in your office, whichever suits you. We build your menus, hours, groups and voicemail, and bring your contacts across.
-
Phones on desks, numbers moved
Desk phones arrive ready to plug in. We move your numbers on the day your provider sets, and test calls in and out with you.
-
We stay a call away
New hire, new hours, new menu? Call the people who set it up. We are in Honolulu, on your time zone.
Hosted by us, or in your office.
Both are the same Kahevo with the same features. The difference is where it lives and who looks after the machine.
Hosted for you
For most businesses.
- Nothing to install in your office but the phones.
- We keep it running, updated and backed up.
- If your office internet goes down, calls still reach voicemail and the mobile app.
- Your recordings and voicemail are yours, and go with you if you ever leave.
A server in your office
For businesses that want everything on site.
- A small, quiet computer about the size of a book.
- Your recordings and voicemail never leave your building.
- We look after it from Honolulu, and come by when hands are needed.
- A second location can join it with one small box of its own.
What goes into your quote.
Every office is different, so we quote rather than publish a price list. Put ours beside what you pay today: an enterprise-grade system, priced to compete. You will see each part:
- Kahevo itself. No license per person or per line, ever.
- Hosting or a server. We host it, or install a small server in your office.
- Your numbers and calls. Through a phone provider, the one you have or one we arrange.
- Desk phones, if you need them. We keep yours where we can, or supply new ones ready to go.
- The mobile app, if you want it. A small charge for each person who uses it. Desk phones and the phone in your browser need none.
What comes across.
- Your phone numbers, kept with your provider or moved to a new one.
- Your contacts, brought in from your old system's export.
- Your menus, groups and hours, set up again by us, usually better than before.
- Your desk phones, if they are among the many models Kahevo sets up itself. Otherwise we supply new ones.
- Old voicemail and recordings stay behind, so save any you need first.
What changes for your people.
At the front desk
- See who is on a call before you transfer, from the lights on your phone.
- Park a caller and let anyone pick them up from any phone.
- Speak to a colleague's desk phone over its speaker.
- Block a nuisance caller in two clicks.
For everyone
- Answer on the desk phone, in the browser, or on the iPhone app (in testing).
- Get voicemail and missed calls by email, with what the caller said written out.
- Send and receive faxes as PDFs.
- Text customers from the business number, as a team.
For the owner or manager
- Set business hours and holidays once. Holidays repeat every year.
- Close the office by hand for a storm or a staff meeting.
- Record calls for the people and lines you choose.
- See today's calls as they happen, and search every past one.
Common questions.
The ones business owners ask us first. Anything else, just ask.
- Can I keep my phone numbers?
- Yes. Your numbers stay with your phone provider, or we move them to a new one for you. Your customers keep calling the numbers they already know.
- Do I need new desk phones?
- Maybe not. Kahevo sets up many popular desk phone models by itself, so the phones on your desks may simply be set up again. If yours are too old, we supply new ones, set up before they arrive.
- What does it cost?
- There is no license for each person or line, so adding staff does not add to the phone system's cost, and we price it to compete with the systems you are comparing it to. Your quote covers hosting or a server, your numbers and calls, any desk phones you need, and the mobile app for those who want it. Ask us and we will put it in writing.
- What if our internet goes down?
- With Kahevo hosted for you, calls still reach your voicemail and the mobile app while your office is offline. A server in your office relies on the office's internet to reach your phone provider, as any phone system there does.
- Does it work with 911?
- Yes, through your phone provider. We set up emergency calling with your provider and test it with you before you go live. The address your provider has on file is the one that goes with the call, so tell us when you move.
- Can my staff answer on their cell phones?
- The iPhone app rings with your office calls and calls out showing your business number. It is in testing and not yet on the App Store, and there is no Android app yet. Anyone can also answer from a web browser on a computer.
- How long does switching take?
- Mostly as long as moving your numbers takes, which your phone provider schedules. We set everything else up ahead of time, and your quote says when you could be on Kahevo.
- Who do I call when something needs changing?
- Us, in Honolulu. The people who set up your phones are the people who answer, on Hawaiʻi time.
Ready when you are.
Tell us about your business and we will tell you honestly whether Kahevo fits, what it would cost and how soon you could be on it. We are neighbors, after all.
