Five ready-made roles and your own on top: each part of Kahevo can be looked at, changed, or kept out of reach.
Until now Kahevo knew two kinds of people: administrators, who could change anything, and everyone else, who could change nothing. Real offices have people in between.
Five roles to start with
| Role | Meant for |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Whoever runs the system. Everything. |
| Manager | Running the office's calls day to day |
| Receptionist | The front desk |
| Phone technician | Whoever sets up and fixes the phones |
| User | Their own phone, voicemail and contacts |
These come with Kahevo and cannot be changed, only copied.
Your own
Copy one, or start from nothing. Kahevo is divided into areas, such as extensions, queues, logs, recordings and backup, and for each area a role gets one of three levels: none, look, or look and change.
Some areas only make sense one way. The dashboard and the logs can only be looked at. A backup is either yours to take or it is not.
Looking without touching
Someone who may only look at a page gets the page, with a notice, and nothing on it can be saved. Secrets are held back as well: a phone's password is shown only to people who manage phones.
The rule that keeps it honest
Nobody can give, make or take charge of more than they hold themselves. A manager cannot create an administrator, and cannot edit one. Nobody can change their own role. Without that rule, the page for managing users would be a ladder to the top.
What everyone keeps
Whatever their role, a person always has their own pages: their phone, voicemail, keys, status and contacts.
Where it stands
Built and in testing. A change of role reaches someone who is signed in within a minute, with no need to sign out.
