A phone on one node now rings a colleague on another. Transfers, ring groups, paging, park and listening in work across nodes.
An hour ago we wrote that a call stayed on the server it started on. That is no longer true: calls now cross between servers, which lets two or three of them share the work rather than one waiting idle.
What works across servers
| Feature | Across servers |
|---|---|
| Calling a colleague | Rings their phone wherever it is registered |
| Ring groups | Members ring on every server |
| Transfers | To a phone on any server |
| Intercom and paging | Desk phones answer on speaker, whichever server |
| Park | Picked up from any server |
| Listen, whisper, barge | A manager can join a call on another server |
Each call is still logged and counted once.
The honest part
All of this is in testing and has not yet run between two real machines.
