A shared contact list that shows who is calling, on every phone and in the call log.
Add your customers to a shared contact list and their names show up when they call.
What a contact is
A name, a business, an email, an address, notes, and as many phone numbers as they have, each marked mobile, home, business or other.
Shared and personal
- Shared contacts are seen by everyone in the office.
- Personal contacts are yours alone. Not even an administrator sees them.
Anyone can add or correct a shared contact, since the person who just spoke to the customer is the one who knows their new number. Only an administrator can delete one.
Where the name shows
- On every desk phone that rings, in place of whatever the provider sent.
- In the call log, for incoming and outgoing calls.
- On your own phones only, your personal name for a number, if you have one. Your accountant can be "Auntie Leilani" on your phone and stay formal on everyone else's.
The caller's number itself is never changed, so blocking rules and the log still work on the real number.
Matching numbers
People write numbers every way imaginable. The system compares digits and treats a ten-digit number as North American, so a contact entered without the 1 still matches a call that arrives with it.
Import and export
Contacts import from a spreadsheet file saved as CSV, matched by column headings. Numbers already in the list are skipped, so the same file can be imported twice without making duplicates. Export writes a file that imports straight back.
Finding one
The page shows two hundred at a time and searches as you type, across names, businesses and numbers.
