Setup by link now covers two brands and more than forty models.
Setup by link now covers a second brand of desk phone.
The count
That brings the catalog to more than forty models across two brands.
Why a second brand is real work
The call side of Kahevo is standard and did not change at all. Any SIP phone could always register and make calls.
Setup by link is different. Every maker has its own settings format, its own names for the same ideas, and its own way of describing the keys down the side of the phone. The first brand uses a plain list of settings. The second uses a structured file with sections, and lists its side keys a page at a time.
So the templates that build a phone's file learned a few new tricks, and the catalog did the rest.
What works on the new brand
- The account, so the phone registers by itself.
- Lines, busy lights, speed dials and park keys.
- Pressing a busy light during a call to send the call there.
- The office phone book and shared contacts.
What is not there yet
- Encrypted setup. The new brand is set up plain for now.
- A picture on the screen.
- The do-not-disturb key following your status.
Where it stands
The newer brand is in testing with us and marked that way on the Features page. Every phone on the list can still be set up by hand with the details on the extension's page.
Which brand is next
That is up to the IT companies who run Kahevo. We would rather support the phones that are actually on your customers' desks than the ones in a catalog. Tell us what you have.
