An audio library

Upload greetings and music as WAV or MP3, in one place.

Greetings, menu prompts and hold music now live in one library.

Upload once, use anywhere

Upload a WAV or an MP3 and give it a name. It can then be picked wherever a sound is needed: a menu greeting, a voicemail greeting, hold music.

Several files can be dropped on the page at once. Each is sent on its own, so one unreadable file does not lose the rest.

Tags keep the lists short

Each sound is tagged with what it is for: hold music, voicemail greeting, menu prompt, announcement. When you choose a menu greeting you are offered menu prompts, not forty minutes of slack-key guitar.

The page also shows what each sound is currently used for, so you know before deleting one that the main menu depends on it.

Two copies of every sound

A classic phone line carries a narrow slice of sound, which is why hold music has always sounded like it is coming down a pipe. Newer phones and browsers can carry much more.

So the library keeps two versions of each upload: one at telephone quality, which every phone can play, and one at full quality for callers whose phones can use it.

Cheap to play

Each sound is turned into ready-to-send packets once, the first time it is needed, and kept. Playing it after that is only a matter of sending, whether one caller is listening or fifty.

What it does not take

Uncompressed WAV and MP3 cover nearly everything an office has on hand. Other formats are not supported for now. If yours is one of them, any free audio tool will convert it.
